Moroccan Spice Rub
My Moroccan spice rub came from my travels around Morocco in 2018. I became good friends with the locals in Taghazout who kindly took me to the Souk El Had d’Agadir market (40 mins away) to get the best spices for the best price!
I paid 200 Moroccan Dirham for 1 kg for my Chicken and Halloumi Moroccan Wrap recipe. They will try and charge you around 600-800 FYI. This vibrant spice blend makes an excellent addition to my easy lamb stew.
The most commonly used ingredients in Moroccan Spice Rub are:
- Cumin seeds
- Cardamom pods
- Cinnamon sticks
- Dried Ginger
- Coriander seeds
- Nutmeg
- Aniseed
- Cloves
- Turmeric
However, I came to Morocco to create my own spice blend and this is the outcome… Your taste buds will thank me later!
Steps
1 Done | Combine together all ingredients in a small bowl until combined well. Ensure you store in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place. I would recommend making this in bulk so you have it ready to use at your own convenience. Try this blend with any of my Moroccan recipes on my website and let me know what you think with a review or comment below. Enjoy! |
