Hot Cross Bun Bread Sauce
Try my Hot Cross Bun Bread Sauce this Easter! I mean, traditional bread sauce is one of the great, classic British sauces enjoyed over Christmas but why can’t you enjoy it over an Easter roast dinner?
My bread sauce is packed with delicious flavour and is super simple to make. It is also a great way to use up leftover hot cross buns.
By using the hot cross buns it will create a sweet spice in the bread sauce that will leave you wanting more!
Looking for other crazy ways to eat your Hot Cross Buns
1. Finely chop the onion and cook in a saucepan over a medium heat with the 30g butter for 5 minutes.
2. Then place the milk, double cream, nutmeg, seasoning into a large saucepan and bring to the boil on a high heat. Once boiled turn the heat off and leave for 7 minutes. This will infuse the flavours.
3. In a food processor add your hot cross buns and blitz. Then add to the saucepan and combine well. You should have a thick texture ready to serve up with your roast dinner.
